It works like a natural tooth
A single implant replaces the root as well as the crown, so you bite, chew and speak the way you did before. It does not slip, click or need to come out at night.
The closest thing to getting your natural tooth back. One titanium post, one custom crown, and nothing done to the teeth beside it.
A single dental implant replaces one missing tooth from the root up. A small titanium post is placed in the jaw where the root used to be; once the bone has bonded to it, a custom ceramic crown is attached on top. The result looks, feels and works like the tooth you lost.
Whether the tooth was lost to decay, a crack, gum disease or an accident, and whether it is a front tooth everyone sees or a molar you chew with, a single implant is the option Dr. Giron recommends first when the surrounding teeth are healthy.

A traditional bridge needs the teeth on either side ground down to hold it. An implant stands on its own, so healthy teeth stay healthy.
When a tooth is lost, the bone beneath it slowly shrinks. The implant post keeps that bone stimulated, which preserves your facial shape and the stability of nearby teeth.
With normal home care and regular visits, implants routinely last decades. The crown on top can be replaced if it ever wears, without touching the implant itself.
Four steps over a few months, with most of the time spent healing quietly at home.
Dr. Giron examines the site, reviews your health history and takes a 3D scan to measure bone and plan the exact position of the implant. You leave knowing whether you are a candidate, what it will cost and how long it will take.
The titanium post is placed in the jaw in a single visit under local anesthetic, with IV sedation available if you prefer. Most patients are surprised by how quick and comfortable it is, and go back to normal routines the next day.
Over the next few months the bone bonds to the implant, a process called osseointegration. If the missing tooth is visible when you smile, we fit a temporary tooth so you are never without one.
Once the implant is solid, we attach an abutment and a custom ceramic crown matched to the shade and shape of your other teeth. From then on, it is simply your tooth.
The placement is done under local anesthetic, so you feel pressure but not pain. Afterward, most patients describe it as milder than an extraction and manage comfortably with over-the-counter pain relief for a day or two. If you are anxious, IV conscious sedation is available.
Typically three to six months from placement to the final crown, most of which is quiet healing time at home. If you need a bone graft first, add a few months. In some cases the implant and a temporary crown can be placed the same day.
Most healthy adults are. We look at the amount and quality of bone, gum health, and medical factors such as uncontrolled diabetes, heavy smoking or certain medications. A 3D scan at your consult tells us exactly where you stand, and if bone is lacking, grafting can usually make an implant possible.
The fee depends on whether grafting is needed and the type of crown. We give you a written, all-inclusive quote at your consult. Many dental plans now cover part of an implant or the crown; we will check your benefits and offer financing options.
Exactly like a natural tooth: brush twice a day, floss around it, and keep your regular cleanings and exams. Implants cannot get cavities, but the gum around them still needs to stay healthy.
An implant consult includes a 3D scan, a clear answer on whether you are a candidate and a written quote. No pressure, no surprises, and you keep the scan whatever you decide.
